ScotRail will be helping music fans heading to Stereofunk music festival in Lanarkshire on Saturday, 4 May, with more seats and an extra late-night train.

Additional carriages are being added to trains to Chatelherault station throughout the day, with a special late-night service added for fans returning to Glasgow after the event.

Chatelherault Country Park near Hamilton is hosting the popular festival, with this year’s line-up including Vengaboys, The KLF, and legendary Scottish DJ George Bowie.

With the festival site just a 12-minute walk from Chatelherault station, ScotRail is able to play its part in helping people get to and from the event.

Festival goers will also benefit from the additional late-night service to Glasgow, departing Chatelherault station at 23.08, just before the final service at 23.15.

Customers are being encouraged to buy return tickets in advance via the mTicket system on the ScotRail app. Buying through the app means mTickets can be purchased before arriving at the station, and will instantly become available on a mobile device.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said:

“We’re really looking forward to helping festival goers travel to Stereofunk by train, with the event entrance just a short walk from Chatelherault station.

“To help the event run smoothly, we’re providing extra seats to and from Chatelherault, and trains are expected to be very popular.

“Customers should check train times on our website or app, and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance on the ScotRail app will also make your journey easier, allowing more time to enjoy the music.”
